Cómo preparar café en la Moka Pot: 3 pasos + un pro tip
Ya que estás aquí, ¿qué tal si aprendemos un poco sobre la historia de la Moka? Esta pieza única que forma parte de muchos hogares en el mundo, especialmente en los italianos, y que sigue aportando enormemente a la cultura y a la historia del café.
¿Quién es Bialetti?
El legado de Alfonso Bialetti, creador de la Moka sigue más fuerte que nunca entre las nuevas generaciones de baristas y Coffe Lovers. La historia de este gran emprendedor comenzó en 1919, cuando abrió un taller para la producción de productos de aluminio semiacabados. Su constante transformación lo llevó al diseño y producción de productos terminados, listo para el mercado. Fue así como la Moka Express salió al mundo en 1933 evolucionando la forma de preparar café en casa.
Se dice que la creación de Bialetti llegó en un buen momento, pues en los años siguientes gozó del crecimiento económico que hubo en Italia. El nombre 'Moka', proviene de la ciudad portuaria en Yemen (país en Oriente Medio) que, a principios del siglo XVIII fue una de las más importantes en la exportación de café a Europa.
La Moka Express también se ha ganado su lugar en grandes museos de diseño y arte industrial en el mundo. En lo cuales se encuentra: el Museo de Arte Moderno, el Museo Nacional de Diseño Cooper-Hewitt y el Museo de Ciencias de Londres.
En cuanto al famoso "Hombrecito con bigote" que llama la atención cuando observamos una cafetera Moka, déjanos decirte que sí, es es su fundador Alfonso Bialetti. Este ícono fue creado en 1950 por el dibujante Paul Campani, como parte de campañas publicitarias de la compañía, manteniéndola hasta la fecha como imagen oficial de sus productos.
Ahora que ya conoces más sobre la Moka Express y su historia, preparemos el café en 3 pasos.
Tienes que saber que la cafetera Moka cuenta con tres partes:
1.- La parte inferior en donde se pone el agua.
2.- La canasta de café.
3.- Cámara recolectora de café.
Preparación
1.- Agrega agua tibia o al ambiente en la parte inferior hasta donde esté la válvula de presión. Recuerda, esa será nuestra medida de agua.
2.- Agrega tu café Huma molido a la canasta. Como tip importante en este paso, ten en cuenta que no es necesario presionar el café.
3.- Pon tu cafetera Moka al fuego. Espera unos minutos y cuando veas que el café comienza a subir a la cámara recolectora, observa hasta que veas una ligera crema (como se ve en el espresso) y apaga el fuego. Esta es la señal que tú café está listo. ¡A disfrutar!
Pro Tip: Deja la tapa abierta mientras se prepara el café, así tienes más visibilidad cuando sale el café y evitamos que se queme.
